INTELLIGENCE UNIT
About The Financial Standard Intelligence Unit
The Financial Standard Intelligence Unit (FSIU) is a centre for excellence in investment research, working with leading universities, industry bodies and investment practitioners to deliver insightful research to the Australian financial community.
The FSIU is responsible for producing investment research and analysis for all publications (print and electronic) in the Financial Standard stable.
The FSIU produces:
Investment Performance Review Ratings The Investment Performance Review (IPR) ratings are an unbiased assessment of investment funds using their historical risk-adjusted performance and other key metrics. The objective of the IPR ratings is to provide a quantitative ranking of actively managed investment funds to allow investors to evaluate investment funds on a risk-adjusted basis free from research biases and analysts’ subjective preferences.
Market Expectations survey The Market Expectations Survey is the only survey in Australia that canvases the views of professionals from the Australian institutional investment industry regarding the different asset classes. The survey is undertaken on a monthly basis and consists of six to 12 month views for Australian equities, International equities, Australian fixed interest, International fixed interest, Direct Property and Listed Property.
Property Index The Property Index is an asset weighted monthly accumulation investment performance index that measures the investment returns achieved across the property investment market in Australia. It compiles long term performance of nearly 200 listed, wholesale unlisted, and wholesale direct funds that amount to around $70 billion in funds under management. The weights for each sector are calculated dynamically for each month using actual market capitalisation and historical performance values.
